Multicultural Arts Accelerator
Every community is a more appealing place when it has a thriving arts sector. In order to bring people of different backgrounds together, it is important to have a strong mix of arts groups reflective of everyone in the community. A primary initiative of ArtsWave is its Multicultural Arts Accelerator, which builds capacity of arts organizations and strengthens arts programming that represents many segments of our community. ArtsWave’s investment in this program helps to ensure a more inclusive regional arts environment. The program is designed to accelerate the growth of these arts organizations and build their capacity to create programming that enriches the entire community, making it a more vibrant place to live, work, play, and stay.
A thriving arts scene benefits the entire community. The more people who participate, the greater the benefits. More people (both artists or audience) mean more vitality. More opportunities to create and consume art result in increasing opportunities for bringing different kinds of people together to share something meaningful.
For these reasons, ArtsWave invests significantly in its Multicultural Arts Accelerator. This program supports and nurtures arts organizations that are created by a broad range of populations in our community — and attract a broad range of audiences. The program is designed to accelerate the growth of these organizations, build their capacity, and allow them to create the kinds of programming that enrich the region as a whole.
