Arts & Learning
Everyone in the community benefits when schools succeed, turning out well-rounded individuals and educating the whole child. Schools succeed by providing motivation, developing creativity, and ensuring students become people who are ready to take their place as citizens, workers, and contributing participants in our civic life. Fortunately, we know that integrating the arts into kids’ education in and out of school — as both a core subject and as part of history, math, science, and other curricula — makes it easier for schools to succeed.
The arts make learning exciting! When kids are absorbed by fun, creative experiences — dance, theatre, music, visual art, and more — they use all parts of their brains. They see and feel things differently, they ask different questions, and they offer different answers. Their faces light up and their imaginations are on fire. The arts ignite critical thinking skills.
ArtsWave is actively partnering to coordinate new approaches that expand access to learning through the arts.
